Man Hit, Killed by Train in Nassau Early Friday Morning
BREAKING: The man has yet to be identified by authorities.

A man was struck and killed by a LIRR work train just east of the Merrick station early Friday morning.
According to the LIRR, the man, who has not yet been identified, was on the tracks a quarter-mile east of the Merrick station when he was struck at approximately 12:45 a.m.
According to MTA Spokeswoman Nancy Gamerman, service was suspended on the Babylon branch between Freeport and Babylon stations until 3 a.m. while an investigation was conducted. Three eastbound and three westbound trains were affected.
