McDONOUGH ENCOURAGES BUSINESSES TO COMPLETE APPLICATION FOR GRANTS AND LOW-INTEREST LOANS

Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) is encouraging local businesses that have applied for grants or low-interest loans as a result of damage from Superstorm Sandy to contact their local Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for an update on their applications with the New York State Small Business Storm Recovery program. Businesses impacted by the storm that have not applied should also contact the SBDC to begin the application process. Under the new streamlined application process, businesses applying for assistance should quickly receive approval for grants for which they are eligible.

“Our community felt firsthand the severe impact of Superstorm Sandy, and this funding is critical to help our local businesses get back to work,” said McDonough. “Any business or organization impacted by the storm should take advantage of all funding they are eligible for and should act quickly to avail themselves of these funds. While the first round of grants has been approved, those who have not heard or have not applied should contact the SBDC to review the status of their applications.”
