Merrick Gears Up For Super Bowl XLV

Lack of N.Y. teams doesn't deter Merrick from partying it up.

Although there are no New York teams in the Super Bowl this year, the big game is less than one week away and that doesn't mean any less of a party. Whether you are looking to watch the game with friends, family, your spouse or alone, Patch scoped out some of the best local places and what they are offering patrons to pay a visit for Super Bowl XLV.

Not even snow can stop Jugs -n- Strokers from putting on a Super Bowl spread. The bar will fire up the grill at 2 p.m. and the barbeque go until game time. The feast will include classic barbeque foods with all of the fixings for free to its patrons. If you are thirsty, Jugs -n- Strokers will have $2 tap beer specials as well in order to celebrate the big game.

Paddy Power: 70 Merrick Avenue; 516-223-3900

Jam-packed for the AFC championship game, Paddy Power offers a wide selection of pub food along with comfortable seating.  In addition to a desirable atmosphere, the bar is offering drink and food specials. During the game, patrons are offered two packages, either a $10.95 per person unlimited buffet or a $35 unlimited buffet and open bar for the duration of the game. In addition to game time specials, Paddy Power will offer $3 drinks all day.

Treehouse Sports Café: 1833 Sunrise Highway; 516-378-9634

The Treehouse Sports Café knows what it takes to keep football fans happy: food and drinks. The bar and eatery will feature a free halftime buffet and a variety of drink specials during the big game.

The Vine-Wine Bar: 2259 Merrick Road; 516-812-7883

If you are looking for a place to relax and watch the game, but a sports bar isn’t for you, seat yourself at The Vine-Wine Bar. The hot spot recently added new seating to be able to accommodate more customers, and has a plethora of wine and imported beers. With a variety of snack foods, cheeses and desserts, the bar has your game day munchies covered.
