Merrick Library Appoints New Trustees
Two new trustees have been voted to the library board.

The Merrick Library Board of Trustees is happy to announce it has appointed two new trustees to fill two recently vacated seats.
Art Sacharoff has been a resident of Merrick for 30 years. He was a New York City math teacher. Now as a retiree, he enjoys spending time with his family. Being an avid reader led him to become interested and involved with the Merrick Library.
Donna Rosenblum, a Merrick resident for 19 years, has been an educator for 23 years. She started as a social studies teacher, and then became a school librarian. Rosenblum is the library chairperson at Floral Park High School and is an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies at Queens College.

As president of the Long Island School Media Association, an affiliate of NYLA, she participates in providing professional development workshops for school librarians. Rosenblum is involved in many community activities and is a board member for a non-profit called Reason2Smile, which financially assist the Jambo Jipya Academy and Future Child Orphanage in Kenya.
