Merrick Memorial Day Parade Set For Monday

The parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. See where the marchers will be and how you can view.

The Merrick Memorial Day Parade will step off at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 29 and march through the heart of Merrick.

The parade will be led by Grand Marshal Paul Zydor, a Navy veteran who served on submarines during the Korean War. A Merrick resident and Freeport native, Zydor is very active in his community and in the veteran's community. He is currently on the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency Advisory Board, Congresswomen Kathleen Rice's Veterans Advisory Board and the Freeport Village Veterans Advisory Council.

The march begins at Broadcast Plaza. The parade will march about a mile north on Merrick Road and end at the Merrick Veterans Memorial Park. Following the parade, there will be a memorial ceremony to honor all of Merrick's veterans.
