The office of Immigration &amp; Refugee Services is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel, process, file, and represent clients before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and EOIR Immigration Court. Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Our staff offers a wide range of social and employment services, including: • Development of a personalized self-sufficiency plan • Case management and referrals • Employment services, job search skills, and work experience opportunities • Outreach and community support • Social and cultural adjustment assistance • English language support • Help with school, benefits, and local resource navigation • Transitional services and employment retention support We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. MERRICK, NY - The Merrick School District was recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation as one of 2016 Best Communities for Music Education.Among the 13,515 schools across the nation, Merrick received this honor with 475 other districts for their outstanding efforts by teachers, parents, administrators and community members for ensuring all students are offered exceptional musical learning in their curriculum.The NAMM Foundation with the help of the Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas, evaluates schools and districts based on their funding, highly qualified music teachers, commitment to high music standards, community support and participation and access to music instruction."We are extremely proud of our music department, faculty and young musicians for receiving this tremendous honor," Superintendent of Schools Dr. Dominick Palma said.
