Merrick Woman Causes Crash While High on Drugs With Kids in Car: Police

She faces felony charges after crash Monday afternoon.

MERRICK, NY - A Merrick woman was arrested after a crash for driving while high on drugs with her two children in the car in Merrick on Monday afternoon, according to Nassau Police.

Kathryn Naccari, 37, was driving at about 1:43 p.m. southbound on Babylon Road, making a left turn onto Merrick Road when she was crashed into another car traveling eastbound on Merrick Road, police said.

Naccari had her 4-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son in the car, secured in car seats, at the time of the accident, police said.

The 62-year-old driver of the second car was transported to a local hospital for back injuries, police said.

The children and Naccari were not injured and the children were released to a family member at the scene, police said.

Naccari is charged with driving while impaired by drugs, two counts of aggravated DWI-with a child passenger less than 16 and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
