Nassau Priest Removed Over Accusations Of Wrongdoing
The diocese has referred the matter to police, but say his alleged misconduct did not involve children.

A priest from a parish in Bellmore has been removed from his position as the Diocese of Rockville Centre investigates allegations of inappropriate behavior. But the diocese said the behavior had nothing to do with abusing children.
According to News12, Rev. Charles Omotu was removed from his position at St. Barnabas the Apostle Church over the accusations, which were not specified.
Newsday reported that the diocese informed police about the matter.

“The diocese wanted to ensure that the matter was properly reviewed in an abundance of caution,” diocesan spokesman Sean Dolan told Newsday. “But the investigation to date has revealed no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.”
