Police Make Arrest in Nassau Bank Robbery
BREAKING: Same suspect also charged with a burglary from May.

Police arrested and charged a Roosevelt man Tuesday with a bank robbery that occurred in Merrick on Aug. 29.
Detectives arrested Omar Acosta, 35, of Hale Place, Roosevelt, on Tuesday and charged him with the bank robbery, as well as a burglary committed on May 31 at The Barn, located at 241 Hempstead Ave. in Lynbrook.
According to police, Acosta allegedly entered the Bank of America located at 2020 Merrick Road and handed a demand note to a teller. The teller complied and Acosta allegedly fled on foot with cash. There were two employees in the bank at the time of the incident.

Acosta is charged with third degree robbery and third degree burglary. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
