Police: N. Merrick Mother and Daughter Sold Heroin
Pair arrested Monday night in Freeport, police say.

A North Merrick mother and her daughter are accused of selling heroin in Freeport Monday night.
According to police, Denise Burke, 51, acting in consort with her daughter Danielle Burke, 18, both of Whittier Avenue, sold heroin on Merrick Road. As part of the Long Island Heroin Initiative, Narcotics/Vice Bureau detectives in conjunction with the Freeport Police Department arrested both women at 9 p.m. Monday, police said.
Danielle Burke is charged with four counts of third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and four counts of fourth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. She also faces charges of petty larceny and third degree unauthorized use of a vehicle–both open warrant from a different incident, police said.

Both women will be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
