Shot Fired, Gun Recovered In Vehicle; 2 Face Multiple Charges: Police
It happened during the overnight hours on Tuesday in Roosevelt.

ROOSEVELT, NY — Two Roosevelt men were taken into custody after firing a gun in Roosevelt. During the overnight hours on Tuesday, Nassau police responded to a Shot Spotter activation on Hudson Avenue.
Police observed a grey Nissan Armada leaving the vicinity of the Shot Spotter location.
They followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in Hempstead.

A silver handgun was recovered from the vehicle, police said.
Matthew Chery, 19, and Jahsire May, 19, were arrested, authorities said.

They are facing charges that include criminal possession of a firearm, second-degree criminal use of firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment.
They were expected to be arraigned on Wednesday.
