Woman Kicks Officer While In Custody For Assault: Police

ROOSEVELT, NY — A Hempstead woman was taken into custody after a verbal argument with a man escalated into violence, and she attacked a police officer, authorities said.

Just before 10:30 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a disturbance in a parking lot on Nassau Rpad in Roosevelt, police said.

Tyneesha Anderson, 32, threatened the 32-year-old victim with an ice pick, authorities said.

She was taken into custody and brought to an area hospital for evaluation. While at the hospital, Anderson kicked an officer in the chest and face, police said.

Anderson is charged with second-degree assault, second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She is expected to be arraigned when medically practical.
