• Men's Cross Country claim fifth place at Metro Championships (griffinnewspaper.com) — A tight finish at Middletown’s Blue Sky Sports Complex gave Canisius fifth place in the men’s Metro Cross Country Championships on October 31. Its 175 points edged Quinnipiac by one and Merrimack by two, while Iona won its 36th consecutive conference title. 
• Maspeth diabetes equipment supplier to move to Long Island after $7 million industrial site purchase (newsday.com) — The Long Island building once occupied by Poly Craft Industries has sold for $7 million, months after the packaging manufacturer completed its move to Middletown. Medical supplier Simple Diagnostics plans to move into the Hauppauge property, while Poly Craft now operates from a new $27 million manufacturing facility.
• Governor Hochul Announces $8.3 Million in NY Plates Grants to Strengthen New York's Emergency Food Network (blogspot.com) — Grace Episcopal Church will receive $122,500 to expand food storage at its Middletown facility with a walk-in cooler, freezer and HVAC improvements. The award is part of $8.3 million in state grants announced for 59 organizations to strengthen food storage, transportation and distribution across New York.
