1 Dead In Mid-Hudson Valley 2-Car Crash

The sheriff's office is asking for any witnesses to the crash to call them with information.

PAWLING, NY — A two-car crash in Dutchess County in which one person died is being investigated by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. The accident occurred during the late-night hours of Sept. 22 on Route 55 in the Town of Pawling.

Police said one person died at the scene and a second person was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Their names have not yet been released.

Route 55 had to be closed for about five hours after the crash, but has since been reopened.

The sheriff's office said it would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the crash.
