$13.8M Bridge Rehabilitation Projects Begin In Hudson Valley
The work will enhance safety and harden infrastructure for years to come, including projects in Orange and Dutchess counties.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — New York State Department of Transportation Acting Commissioner Paul A. Karas today announced that construction is underway on a $13.8 million project to rehabilitate six bridges in the Hudson Valley region. The project will perform corrective and preventative maintenance actions to extend the service life of long span bridges on state highways in Dutchess, Orange and Westchester counties.
“These Hudson Valley bridges provide a vital link to economic development in the region, while also supporting recreation and enhancing the quality of life for residents,” Karas said. “The work we are performing on these bridges will support safe travel for commuters, area residents, commercial vehicles and tourists alike for years to come.”
In Westchester County, steel, joint, bearing and deck repairs are taking place on the bridge carrying Senasqua Road over Route 9 in the village of Croton-on-Hudson. Work on this bridge is currently underway.

In Orange County, Route 17A over the Wawayanda Creek in the village of Warwick will have its concrete deck replaced and undergo sidewalk and curb repair as well.
Four bridges in Dutchess County will also undergo repairs, as follows:

- The bridges carrying Route 9 over Fishkill Creek in the town of Fishkill will have their concrete beams replaced.
- The bridge carrying the Taconic State Parkway over the James Baird State Park Entrance Road in the town of Lagrange will undergo a superstructure replacement.
- The bridge that carries Interstate 84 westbound over New York State Route 52 in the town of East Fishkill will have its joints and railing replaced, and repairs will be made to the concrete deck, as well as to the steel and concrete substructure.
Any lane closures, traffic shifts, or detours will be announced ahead of time, through travel advisories.
