2 Allegedly Tossed Drugs Out Of Car: Police
Police had stopped them after they were observed swerving off the roadway.

KINDERHOOK, NY — Two men were arrested after a traffic stop and when they allegedly threw illegal drugs out their car window. State Police said Naquan S. Williams, 21, of Albany, and Elshamar T. Thornton, 24, of Hudson, were charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Troopers stopped a Ford Taurus traveling on State Route 9H in Kinderhook July 29 after the officer observed the vehicle swerve off of the roadway. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
As the vehicle was being stopped, the Trooper said he saw the occupants throw a bag from the passenger-side window onto the shoulder of the roadway.

An investigation indicates that Williams and Thornton had thrown a bag containing heroin, cocaine and crack from the vehicle prior to coming to a complete stop.

Thornton and Williams were arraigned and sent to the Columbia County Jail.

Both men are due to appear in the Town of Kinderhook Court on August 15.
