2 Killed In 1-Car Crash Sunday
Police said the car went off the road and struck a tree.

SHANDAKEN, NY — State police are investigation a car crash Sunday in the Town of Shandaken that claimed the lives of two men. Police said they responded around 11:23 p.m. May 20 to a one-car accident on Oliverea Road in Shandaken in Ulster County.
An investigation found John M. Martinez, 39, of Hauppauge, Suffolk County, was driving a 2018 Maserati when the car left the roadway and struck a large tree.
The car overturned and ended up on its roof.

Martinez and Michael Colangelo, 31, of Huntington Station, Suffolk County, were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third occupant of the car was taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Agencies that assisted the state police at the scene included the Town of Shandaken Police Department, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, New York City Department of Environmental Protection, Big Indian Fire Department, Pine Hill Fire Department, Phoenicia Fire Department and Shandaken EMS.
