3 Accused Of Stealing Hemp Plants From Farm
Police had initially gotten a call about a suspicious vehicle and trespassers.
RED HOOK, NY — Three Ulster County men are facing felony charges after being accused of stealing hemp plants from a farm in the Town of Red Hook. The Red Hook police said, around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 3, they were called about a suspicious vehicle and a trespass complaint at a local farm.
Police found the vehicle which was traveling south on Route 9G, and a traffic stop was conducted.
Twenty-two pounds of hemp plants that were stolen from the farm were found in the vehicle, according to authorities.

Peter J. Bonavita, 45, Raven M. Banks, 18, and Joshua L. Guldy, 18, all from Kingston, were arrested.
All three were charged with grand larceny, a felony, and criminal trespass and criminal possession of stolen property, misdemeanors.

The men were arraigned in the Town of Red Hook Court and sent to jail in lieu of cash bail.
Red Hook police were assisted by the New York State Police.
