1 Child, 2 Adults Dead In Hudson Valley Shooting

NEWBURGH, NY — A child and two adults were killed in what officials described as a "targeted" shooting around 8:15 a.m. Sunday in the Town of Newburgh. Police said a 9-year-old boy and a man and a woman were fatally shot in the Chadwick Lake area of Newburgh.

A person of interest, who was known to the victims, has been taken into custody, MidHudson News said.

There are no other suspects, officials said.

Town of Newburgh Supervisor Gil Piaquadio said the police feel certain it was not just a random house that was chosen, the Times Herald-Record reported.

A 3-year-old boy with serious injuries was taken to the hospital.
