42-Year-Old Gets Gets Prison After 'Oral Sexual Contact' With A Child, Disseminating Indecent Material
"This case represents some of the most disturbing and dangerous conduct my office prosecutes," DA Parisi said.
TOWN OF HYDE PARK, NY — A Hudson Valley man who preyed on a child will now spend years behind bars.
Dutchess County District Attorney Anthony Parisi announced last week that 42-year-old Stephen Alvarez, of Marlborough, was sentenced for up to eight years in state prison after his April 2025 guilty plea to felony second-degree criminal sex act, and felony first-degree disseminating indecent material to minors.
Alvarez was sentenced to five years in state prison for the criminal sex act, followed by an indeterminate state prison term of one to three years for disseminating indecent material to minors. He will also be required to serve 10 years of post-release supervision, and register as a sex offender.

The charges stem from incidents that took place in March 2024, in the Town of Hyde Park. Prosecutors say that Alvarez engaged in oral sexual conduct with a child under the age of 15, and sent the child harmful text messages describing actual sexual conduct. The messages were sent as invitations for the child to engage in sexual intercourse with Alvarez for his benefit, according to the DA's Office.
The case was investigated by the Town of Hyde Park Police Department.

DA Parisi emphasized that this case highlights the office's "broader commitment to pursuing justice for young survivors of sexual violence."
"This case represents some of the most disturbing and dangerous conduct my office prosecutes," DA Parisi said. "The defendant deliberately targeted and exploited a minor, and today's sentence holds him accountable while protecting the community. Let this be clear: predators who harm children will face severe consequences in Dutchess County."
