PINE BUSH, NY — An Orange County man will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars for committing unspeakable sexual abuse against a child.

Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced that 73-year-old Allan Bressler, of Pine Bush, pled guilty on Thursday to first degree course of sexual conduct against a child. The DA's Office will recommend that Bressler be sentenced 18 years in state prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision, when he is sentenced on February 20, 2025.

Bressler admitted that between March 1, 2008, and February 1, 2013, in the area of his Pine Bush home, he engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct, including at least one act of oral sexual contact, with a child less than eleven years old.

"I commend the Child Abuse Task Force for their work on this case, and other cases where the passage of time makes the investigation of sexual abuse against children more difficult," Hoovler said. "Offenders who have engaged in the abuse of children should never be able to think that they have escaped punishment by the passage of time. Those who have survived sexual exploitation as children deserve every support we can offer. At age 73, this offender may, or may not, live long enough to complete his sentence, but the children of our community are safer every day that he remains incarcerated."

The district attorney thanked the Orange County Child Abuse Task Force and the New York State Police for their investigation and the arrest of Bressler.
