The two tried to communicate with Lopez, who failed to follow instructions from them, state police officials said. When he made an aggressive movement toward them, Wolensky fired two shots.
Officials said the two administered first aid to Lopez until EMS arrived. Lopez was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, where he later died.
