The Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter will hold a free virtual concert series Wednesdays in August for people with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia and their loved ones.

The virtual concert will feature performers from a variety of backgrounds and styles of music.
The series kicked off on Wednesday, Aug. 4, with a performance by Broadway singer and actress Rita Harvey with composer/co-lyricist Neil Berg. The Aug. 11 performance by the a cappella group Cherished Memories took participants back to the doo-wap era. On Aug. 25, attendees will be able to make song requests from Tim Gysin, a pianist and singer who also plays a variety of other instruments. The concert series will conclude with more Broadway music from Sing for Your Seniors, a nonprofit organization featured in O, Oprah Winfrey’s magazine, that seeks to help seniors connect through music.

Shows will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Aug. 4, 11 and 25 and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Aug. 18.
