Alzheimer's Association offers 2 educational programs in Ulster
Learn about communication, legal and financial planning

The Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter will offer two programs in Ulster County for caregivers and loved ones of people with dementia.
“Understanding and Responding to Dementia-related Behavior” will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Saugerties Public Library, 91 Washington Ave., in Saugerties. Behavior is a powerful form of communication and one of the primary ways people with dementia communicate their needs once the ability to use words is lost. This program helps decode behavioral messages, identifies common triggers and offers strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease. To RSVP, contact the library at 845.246.4317.
“Legal and Financial Planning for Alzheimer’s Disease” will be held from 5-6 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at Gardiner Library, 133 Farmer’s Turnpike in Gardiner. This workshop looks at the legal and financial issues to consider following a dementia diagnosis and how to put plans in place. To RSVP, contact the library at 845.255.1255.
