Alzheimer's Association offers educational events in Westchester

Free programs scheduled in March

This March, the Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter will offer the following educational programs in Westchester County.

Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, at the Westchester County Youth Council, 106 North Broadway, White Plains. Learn about the impact of Alzheimer’s, the difference between dementia and Alzheimer’s, disease stages and risk factors, current research and treatments as well as Alzheimer’s Association resources. 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 12, at the Fountains of RiverVue, 1 Rivervue Place, Tuckahoe. Alzheimer’s and other dementias can cause changes in memory, thinking and behavior that interfere with daily life. Learn about 10 common warning signs and what to watch for in yourself and others. This program explores typical age-related changes, common warning signs of Alzheimer’s, how to approach someone about memory concerns; early detection, the benefits of a diagnosis and the diagnostic process and Alzheimer’s Association resources.
