Community Corner
Alzheimer's Community Forum planned in White Plains
Public to have opportunity to ask questions about the disease, share experiences and learn about resources

Westchester County residents can take part in a Community Forum on Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Burke Rehabilitation in White Plains. The forum, which is open to the public, is an opportunity for residents of all ages to come together to ask questions about the disease, share their personal experiences, learn about available resources and discover volunteer opportunities to support those affected by the disease.
“We understand the importance of Alzheimer’s disease care and support programs and services in Westchester County,” said Meg Boyce, vice president of programs and services for the Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter. “Community Forums are hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association in communities across the country, where families are invited to come together with Association staff and volunteers to mobilize our community in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.”
The Alzheimer’s Association believes no individual or family should have to navigate the challenges of Alzheimer’s alone and seeks to ensure families have resources needed to face the challenges associated with the disease. Volunteers are essential to helping the association best serve the families affected, driving awareness and mobilizing the community in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
