Berkshire Farms Center Staffer Accused Of Sex Abuse

Police said the woman was employeed as a clinician at the center.

CANAAN, NY — An employee of a juvenile services center was accused of sexual abuse. State police said Kelli R. Wagers, 39, of Philmont, was charged June 21 with two counts of second-degree criminal sex act, felonies, and endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, misdemeanors.

State police investigators were alerted June 17 by staff at the Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth of possible sexual abuse by an employee.

Police said that Wagers, who was employed as a clinician at the center, committed two sexual acts and instances of sexual abuse with a victim under the age of 17 while at the facility.

She was arraigned in the Town of Livingston Court and sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail or $30,000 bond.

Wagers is next scheduled to appear in court June 26.
