Body Of Man Recovered After Jump From Newburgh-Beacon Bridge

There was a report of an abandoned vehicle on the bridge.

NEWBURGH, NY — An abandoned car on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge led to the discover of the body of a man who jumped from the bridge in the early morning hours of Friday. Members of the Newburgh Fire Department found the man’s body around 8:15 a.m. Friday.

Their search, which was assisted by the Middlehope, Cornwall and West Point fire departments, began around 5:55 a.m., the Daily Voice said.

The identity of the man is being withheld pending an autopsy and notification of family.
