Bomb Threat Closes SUNY Orange Campuses Thursday
All classes and events were cancelled for the rest of the day.

MIDDLETOWN, NY — The SUNY Orange Middletown and Newburgh campuses were evacuated Thursday afternoon due to a bomb threat.
Shortly after noon, a threat was directed at two Middletown campus buildings, which were evacuated, followed by the evacuation of the entire campus, the Times Herald-Record said.
Bomb squads were searching the campus, News12.com said.

According to information on the SUNY Orange website all remaining day classes were cancelled, along with all evening classes, activities and events.
Shuttle buses were provided from both the Newburgh and Middletown campuses.

School officials said that as soon as authorities give the “all-clear,” students and employees will be able to work with security personnel to access the buildings and retrieve personal belongings left behind during the evacuations.
