Brooklyn Woman Arrested Trying To Bring Drugs Into Prison
Investigators said she was planning on giving the drugs to an inmate.

FISHKILL, NY — A Brooklyn woman stands accused of trying to smuggle drugs into prison.
State Police said Evelyn Jimenez, 47, of Brooklyn, was found to have suboxone and synthetic marijuana as she entered the Fishkill Correctional Facility March 5.
She was planning on giving the drugs to an inmate, according to investigators.

Jimenez was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies, and second-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree promoting prison contraband, misdemeanors.
She was arraigned in the Village of Wappingers Falls Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond.

The State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.
