When police tried to arrest Ramirez, he refused to comply with their commands and kicked an officer.
DA Hoovler thanked the Town of New Windsor Police Department for their investigation which led to the arrest of Ramirez.
"Petty arguments should never be resolved with the use of force, or by introducing dangerous items capable of causing serious injury or death," Hoovler said. "Unchecked violence has far-reaching consequences for victims and for our community at large. Thankfully, law enforcement promptly responded in this case, preventing an even worse outcome. We will continue to pursue violent criminal actors and seek to hold them accountable for their illegal behavior."
