Catskill Man Accused Of Strangulation, Assault

Police said the victim was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment.

CATSKILL, NY — A Catskill man was accused of strangling and assaulting someone in Greene County. The New York State Police said Anthony Pastel, 36, of Catskill, arrested following an investigation into an assault that happened in Athens, Greene County.

Police said the victim was taken by Catskill Ambulance to Albany Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

  • Second-degree assault, a felony
  • Second-degree strangulation, a felony
  • Endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor
  • Driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in the Town of Catskill Court and released on $250 bail.
