Catskill Woman Accused Of Passing Counterfeit Money
Police said the woman also forged a check.
CATSKILL, NY — A Catskill woman was accused of trying to spend fake money.
The New York State Police said troopers responded to a Catskill business shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday for a report of a counterfeit $100 bill that was passed by a customer.
Police said the investigation found that the customer, Sarah Jaghamin, 28, of Catskill, regularly came to the store.

While speaking with her, troopers said they learned she also forged a name on a check from a closed bank account and used that check at a local hotel.
Jaghamin was charged with possession of a forged instrument and first-degree forgery, both felonies, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

She was virtually arraigned in the Town of Catskill Court and released on her own recognizance.
A return court date will be determined.
