Eastdale Village Brings a Taste of Italy to the Hudson Valley with Ferragosto Celebration

<a href="https://www.hvcu.org/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Hudson Valley Credit Union</a> donated 200 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region for the nonprofit&rsquo;s annual back-to-school drive. The initiative, completed with the help of the credit union&rsquo;s 2026 high school internship program participants, demonstrated not only the organization&rsquo;s commitment to the communities it serves, but also its dedication to teaching the next generation the importance of giving back. Approximately 20 nonprofits partnering with United Way this school season will distribute the supplies to dozens of students and families across Dutchess and Orange County.
&ldquo;United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region's school supply drive helps ensure that local students start the academic year with the tools they need to learn and succeed,&rdquo; said Jeannie Montano, President &amp; CEO at United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region. &ldquo;By providing essential supplies, we ease the financial burden on families and help create a stronger, more equitable community where every child has the opportunity to thrive. Raising the curtain in Rosendale&hellip; <a href="https://communityfoundationshv.org/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">The Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley</a> (CFHV) continues to put charitable capital to work through its Local Impact Fund for Tomorrow (LIFT), providing a bridge loan to the Rosendale Theatre Collective. 
The loan will provide the Rosendale Theatre Collective with flexible financing while it awaits committed grant funding, helping the nonprofit continue its work preserving and operating the historic Rosendale Theatre as a community hub for film, arts, and culture. The funds will support critical building improvements, including new siding and insulation to address long-standing deterioration, energy inefficiency, and water-intrusion risks &mdash; and help protect the Theatre&rsquo;s historic structure ahead of the coming winter.
 
Launched in March 2026, LIFT provides nonprofits with flexible bridge financing when they have committed grant funding but need capital before reimbursement arrives. LIFT offers loans of up to $50,000 at 2% interest. CFHV provides the loans, while Ulster Savings Bank contributes 10% of each loan and originates and services the financing.
The model is designed to make each charitable dollar work again and again: when a loan is repaid, the funds return to LIFT and become available to another nonprofit in Dutchess, Ulster or Putnam County.

Rosendale Theatre Collective to receive LIFT Loan from Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley 

Further demonstrating its commitment to excellence, <a href="http://www.fkcs.law/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Feldman, Kleidman, Collins &amp; Sappe LLP (FKC&amp;S)</a> has announced that Alexandra Downey Thomas, who serves Of Counsel, has been awarded the 2026 Amee VanTassel Young Lawyer Award by the Dutchess County Bar Association. This prestigious recognition honors attorneys with less than 10 years of professional practice who exemplify the late VanTassel&rsquo;s spirit and character. Recipients are also chosen for their ongoing service to the Bar, their communities and pro-bono commitments, as well as esteem and recognition they have earned from peers for outstanding professionalism and civility.

Award-winning public relations and communications agency, <a href="https://prwithimpact.com/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Impact PR &amp; Communications</a> (Impact PR), has been selected to provide strategic communications and support for <a href="https://hvconnected.org/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Hudson Valley Connected</a>, a regional initiative expanding free technology assistance and digital literacy resources throughout the Hudson Valley. to the <a href="https://www.westchesterlibraries.org/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Westchester Library System</a>, the lead financial partner and grant administrator for Hudson Valley Connected. 
The initiative will grow the Digital Navigators of the Hudson Valley program, originally launched in 2022, across Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties. Working collaboratively with the Westchester Library System, Southeastern New York Library Resources Council, Mid-Hudson Library System and the Ramapo Catskill Library System, the program recruits and trains additional digital navigators, connecting residents with free one-on-one technology assistance through local libraries and community organizations. As part of the successful grant application, Impact PR will develop and implement a comprehensive public awareness campaign designed to increase visibility, community engagement and utilization of these free services. 
&ldquo;I&rsquo;m incredibly proud of the work our Digital Navigators have done across nine counties in New York since 2022,&rdquo; said Carolyn Bennett Glauda, Digital Navigator ambassador for Hudson Valley Connected.&ldquo;Trained professionals who offer tech help to solve everyday problems are meeting a real-world need. Getting the word out will allow even more people to get the support they need to go online with confidence. Thanks to this grant, and the resources of Impact PR &amp; Communications, who have deep nonprofit expertise and roots in the communities we&rsquo;re serving, we can have an even bigger impact and grow this program for the long-term.&rdquo;
The expansion to the program comes as New York State continues investing in digital equity following the loss of comparable federal funding. According to New York State&rsquo;s Digital Equity Plan, 29% of New Yorkers need professional support because they cannot repair or troubleshoot their devices independently, while 23% of older adults and 20% of low-income households report low confidence using technology.

 Win The Region's Best: Hudson Valley Credit Union Announces Sip, Stay & Play Sweepstakes

The <a href="https://www.westchesterlibraries.org/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Westchester Library System</a> (WLS) has been awarded $500,000 through <a href="https://broadband.ny.gov/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Empire State Development&rsquo;s ConnectALL Office</a> to expand the <a href="https://hvconnected.org/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Digital Navigators of the Hudson Valley</a> (DNHV) program, bringing free technology assistance to more residents throughout nine counties in the Hudson Valley Region. 
The project will recruit, train and deploy Digital Navigators, or trained tech assistants, in libraries and community-based organizations to increase access to free technology assistance for residents. The program will also offer digital literacy workshops and information sessions and connect individuals with free and reduced-cost technology.
In Sullivan County, the DNHV program is currently offered at Jeffersonville-Western Sullivan Public Library, Livingston Manor Free Library and Western Sullivan Public Library. Residents can <a href="https://hvconnected.org/directory/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">make an appointment</a> for dedicated one-on-one time with a trained Digital Navigator to learn basic computer skills, receive assistance with a device, get connected to low-cost internet options and much more, including:
&bull;Find ways to purchase low-cost phones or computers
&bull;Find resources for housing and submit online applications
&bull;Manage healthcare, including: telehealth visits, patient portals, and other information 
&bull;Locate food resources
&bull;Make a resume and fill out online job applications
&bull;Make video calls with family and friends
&bull;Connect with public information like local government meetings
&bull;Apply for services and benefits such as SNAP, Medicaid, and more
&bull;Access educational services, such as remote learning opportunities or connecting to a child's school portal
&bull;Deal with daily life tasks such as online grocery shopping or paying bills
As the project&rsquo;s lead financial partner and grant administrator, WLS will collaborate with Southeastern New York Library Resources Council (Southeastern), which leads the DNHV initiative, along with the Mid-Hudson Library System (MHLS) and Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS), allowing the initiative to reach public libraries and communities across Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties.

This funding will allow us to expand those services so even more Hudson Valley residents can access the technology skills and support they need to succeed."
Building on New York State&rsquo;s continued investment as one of the only in the nation to expand digital equity following the loss of comparable federal funding, the expansion of the DNHV service aims to support low-income households and older adults in overcoming key barriers identified in the New York State Digital Equity Plan:
&middot;Assisting the 29% of New Yorkers who need professional device support because they cannot fix a device or do not have family or friends to help them.
&middot;Supporting New Yorkers with low confidence in digital literacy, including 23% of older adults and 20% of low-income households.
&middot;Supporting the 87% of New Yorkers who are concerned about online safety.

As the lead financial partner, WLS is also coordinating the local investments needed to support the project alongside the ConnectALL grant, working with regional philanthropic partners to help ensure Hudson Valley Connected reaches all communities throughout the region.

The Country Living Fair is back with a three-day shopping event featuring 275+ vendors including antiques dealers, artisans and small boutique brands, along with hands-on workshops, high-profile guest speakers, kid-friendly fun and a new music collaboration with The Bluegrass Situation. The event will also feature local Upstate vendors, including food trucks serving vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free fare, apple cider donuts, beer and wine, as well as Samuel’s Sweet Shop (co-owned by actors Paul Rudd and Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Cooper’s Daughter Spirits and more.

Music Programming: We've teamed up with our friends at The Bluegrass Situation to program three days of folk, bluegrass and Americana on the new Americana Music Stage. The Bluegrass Situation (or BGS, as it’s come to be known) is the world’s largest community for American roots music, culture, and lifestyle. Co-founded by lifelong music fan Ed Helms (The Office; The Hangover) and Executive Director Amy Reitnouer Jacobs in 2012, BGS proudly represents a unique gathering place: Supporting and uplifting the rich, diverse, and varied history of the music (as well as the artists and fans who keep them alive), while looking ahead with a progressive vision to transform these folkways and traditions into a carefully curated, 21st century lifestyle open to all.
