Cleaning Woman Accused Of Stealing From Client

Police are asking other people who are missing valuable to call them.

WARWICK, NY — A Newburgh cleaning woman was accused of stealing jewelry from one of her clients. State Police said Debby I. Lowe, 46, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony. An investigation found that Lowe, while woking as a house cleaner stole an assortment of jewelry valued in excess of $1,000 from a residence in Hamptonburgh during the summer, police said.

Additionally, police said some of the jewelry was pawned at an area pawn shop.

Several other homes, where cleaning services were used, also reported missing valuables over the past few months.

The investigation is ongoing with additional charges pending.

State Police ask that any other victims call the State Police 845-457-1388 or their local police departments with additional information.

Lowe was issued an appearance ticket to return to the Town of Hamptonurgh Court Dec. 27. She also had an outstanding bench warrant from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
