Construction Worker Killed at Gap Distribution Site Identified By Police
The remains of the burned out building were being demolished.

FISHKILL, NY — State Police have identified the construction worker killed Saturday at the Gap Inc. distribution center in Fishkill.
James Parisella, 58, of Fort Pierce, FL was operating a Komatsu excavator and was killed by a piece of steel beam and tin that entered the cab of the equipment.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Parisella worked for Environmental Remediation Service Inc., which is based in Syracuse.
They were subcontracted by Clayco Contractors of Chicago, IL which has the contract for the demolition and rebuilding.

Demolition of Building 100 was necessary due to the massive fire that occurred Aug. 29. Investigators said that the blaze was intentionally set.
About 600 people worked in Building 100. The entire center employs about 1,300 people.
The contractors have been working at the Gap site since Nov. 16.
