Copper Wire Theft Sends Dover Man to Jail: Police

Police said the man stole the wire from a vacant residence.

DOVER PLAINS, NY — A Town of Dover man was arrested Feb. 7 for allegedly stealing copper wire.

State Police said Thomas C. Brown Jr., 32, was charged with third-degree burglary, a felony.

Investigators said the copper wire was stolen from a vacant residence July 27, 2016.

Brown was arraigned in the Town of Dover Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.

He is scheduled to reappear in court Feb. 10.
