Correction Officer Accused of Drug Possession, Smuggling
An unannounced screening of employees was taking place when she had the drugs, police said.

STORMVILLE, NY — A correction officer faces drug charges and more after trying to smuggle pot into prison.
State Police said Orianna V. Lord, 37, of Brooklyn was charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony; first-degree promoting prison contraband (attempted), a felony, and second-degree promoting prison contraband, a misdemeanor.
Lord is a correction officer at Green Haven Correctional Facility in Stormville and was arrested as a result of a joint investigation conducted by the State Police and the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.

Police said Lord entered Green Haven while she was in possession of more than 460 grams of marijuana.
When she entered the prison, Green Haven supervisors were conducting an unannounced screening of employees for contraband as they got to the facility for their scheduled shifts.

After she entered the prison, Lord turned around and left the building but was stopped by a supervisor in the facility parking lot where, police said, the marijuana was found.
Lord was arraigned in the Town of Beekman Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
She will appear in court at a later date and time, police said.
