TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A drug dealer is off the streets, thanks to tips from neighbors and an undercover operation, according to law enforcement in Dutchess County.
The Dutchess County District Attorney's Office Drug Task Force says that 38-year-old Jason Cabone was arrested after an investigation into the distribution of drugs in the Town of Poughkeepsie area.

After agents identified Cabone as the alleged narcotic and dangerous drug dealer in the area, they made purchases of narcotics from him in the neighborhood and in surrounding areas. This resulted in a search warrant for Cabone and his home.
On Thursday, agents coordinated with the Poughkeepsie Joint SWAT team, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Emergency Service Unit, the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department, and the Dutchess County Sherriff's Office Patrol to execute a search warrant at a Southgate Drive address, in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

Cabone was taken into custody, and Drug Task Force agents seized evidence related to the sale and distribution of narcotics and dangerous drugs.
Cabone was charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, and arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court. Several additional charges related to the possession and sale of narcotics are pending against Cabone, according to the DA.
"Drug trafficking operations do not just poison individuals, they erode the sense of safety and stability that every neighborhood deserves," DA Parisi said. "This investigation is another example of what can be accomplished when community members speak up and law enforcement acts swiftly and strategically in response. I want to commend the members of the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, the Poughkeepsie Joint SWAT Team, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit, the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department, and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division for their coordinated and professional efforts throughout this investigation. The distribution of dangerous narcotics in our communities will not be tolerated, and we will continue to pursue those who profit from addiction with determination and resolve."
