Dutchess Bus Driver Strike Possible

People who rely on the buses are being asked consider alternative transportation in the event of a strike.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Dutchess County Public Transit passengers may have to find alternative ways to get around if bus system workers go out on strike, which could happen as early as Wednesday. County officials said service disruptions are possible.

Dutchess County Mass Transit drivers and members of Teamsters Local 445 voted overwhelmingly to strike if a contract negotiations are unsuccessful, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.

Unresolved issues are pay, healthcare and vacation days.
