Dutchess Woman Arrested After Making 7YO Stand In Rain

The child ran to a neighbor's house and 911 was called.

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — State Police arrested a woman who was disciplining a child by making a 7-year-old stand outside in the rain. April Gadonniex, 39, of Pleasant Valley, was arrested Feb. 10 and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.

Troopers responded to a residence at Denise Court in the Town of Pleasant Valley for a domestic dispute.

They said that Gadonniex had placed the 7-year-old outside in the rain wearing socks and a T-shirt as a form of discipline.

The child then ran to a neighbor’s house for help, which prompted the neighbor to call 911.

Gadonniex was arraigned in the Town of Union Vale Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $250 bail or $500 bond.

A full stay away order of protection was issued in favor of the child.

Gadonniex is scheduled to appear in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court Feb. 15.
