1-Car Crash Kills Pleasant Valley Teen

The accident happened on Freedom Road.

New York State Police were called at 7:25 p.m. May 31 to a reported one-car auto collision in LaGrange.

An investigation revealed that 18-year-old Daniel A. Dangerfield of Pleasant Valley was traveling southbound on Freedom Road  in the area of Frost Hill Road when his vehicle left the roadway, then the shoulder, and stuck a utility pole. 

LaGrange Fire Department extricated the victim and sole occupant of the Nissan sedan utilizing the Jaws of Life in under 10 minutes. Dangerfield was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries as a result of the crash.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation, police said.

The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, the LaGrange Fire Department and the LaGrange Rescue Squad.
