Less Than 4,000 Central Hudson Customers Still Waiting For Power

The utility company distributed ice and bottled water in three communities Friday.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Central Hudson continues making progress restoring electricity to the Hudson Valley. As of 6 p.m. Friday, there are about 3,900 customers with waiting for the lights to come back on.

Around noon there were less than 10,000 customers without electricity.

In Dutchess County, the number dropped from 5,300 to 3,100. The public utility said the estimated time for restoration is 2 p.m. Saturday.

The problem spot is still East Fishkill, but there are now more than 800 customers, down from 1,400 from earlier in the day. Estimated restoration is 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Orange dropped to 440 from more than 3,600 earlier Friday. All customers should be back on the grid by noon Saturday.

There are only 200 customers in Putnam waiting for power. Philipstown is the major one with 189 customers. Restoration for the county is 4 p.m. Saturday.


MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Less than 10,000 Central Hudson customers are still waiting for the power to come back on Friday. Dutchess and Orange counties are the hardest hit with 5,377 and 3,664, respectively, as of noon.

The power utility said nearly 90 percent of its customers have been restored to the grid.

All of Dutchess should be restored by 2 p.m. Saturday. East Fishkill, which has 1,464 customers without power, is estimated to be completely restored by 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Stanford and Lagrange, which both have more than 450 customers, are estimated for restoration by the end of Friday.

In Orange County, customers without electricity should all see the lights come back on by noon Saturday.

Cornwall, with 1,227, is estimated for 8 a.m. Saturday. New Windsor, which has 1,178, is estimated to be restored by 11 p.m. Friday.

Putnam County still has 673 customers without power. The utility company is estimating restoration for the county by 4 p.m Saturday.
