Fire At Former Pizza Restaurant In Poughkeepsie [VIDEO]

Fire officials said the blaze started in the upper portion of the building.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The Hooker Avenue building where the former Cozzy's Place pizza restaurant was located was severely damaged in an early Tuesday morning blaze. No one was in the vacant structure at 256 Hooker Avenue in the City of Poughkeepsie at the time, and no one was injured.

Firefighters were called to the location around 2:20 a.m. and found a blaze in the upper portion of the two-and-a-half story building, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.

Fire officials said the fire was contained to attic, and no cause has been determined.

The fire is still under investigation, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.

The business has been closed for several years.
