Hudson Valley Man Accused Of Sexually Assault Child

Police said the man also gave the child an alcoholic beverage.

STOCKPORT, NY — A Columbia County man was accused of sexually assaulting a child after giving the person alcohol.

The New York State Police said Scott W. Folmsbee, 51, of Stuyvesant, was charged Thursday with second-degree criminal sexual act, a felony, and first-degree unlawful dealing with a child, a misdemeanor.

Police said an investigation began in August of the possible sexual assault of a victim taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Authorities said it was found that Folmsbee gave the victim, who is under the age of 21, an alcoholic beverage and then performed a sexual act while the person was incapacitated.

Folmsbee was arraigned in the Town of Stockport Court and released on his own recognizance to return to court Jan. 3.
