HV Man Wins $1M From Lottery Scratch-Off Ticket
He said he will continue to work, with the winnings providing a cushion for him and his wife during their retirement years.

STORMVILLE, NY — Add the name of Joseph Corsello to the list of millionaires in Dutchess County. Thanks to matching the number 16 on a Super Tripler Cash scratch-off ticket that he bought on the way home, he won a prize of $1 million from the New York Lottery.
Corsello was introduced to the public Thursday at a ceremony at the Sunoco Hopewell Premium Gas station at 1113 Route 82 in Hopewell Junction where the ticket was purchased.
“I stop every morning for coffee and a few Lottery tickets,” he said. “I was going to buy three of the Super Tripler cash tickets but decided to get four this time.”

Corsello, a 62-year-old fencing contractor who just celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary with his wife Carol, said he scratched three of the four tickets before clocking in at work and then noticed a match on the number 16 on the second line of the fourth ticket.
He scratched the prize underneath and saw the words “Jackpot — $1 Million.”

“I immediately thought of my wife and how lucky I was to find her,” Corsello said. “I just want to make life easier for her.”
A father of two and a grandfather of two, he said he plans to continue working. He said the extra cash will provide a nice cushion for him and his wife during their retirement years.
“I feel like a huge burden has been lifted off my back,” Corsello said.
“I think sometimes luck just finds you,” he said.
Corsello chose to receive the $1 million prize as an annuity. He will continue to receive annual payments of $50,000 — netting $33,090 — through 2036.
He joins a growing list of Dutchess County Lottery players who have won a prize of $1 million or more in 2017.
Other recent winners include James and Sylvia Silverance of Poughkeepise who split a $10 million prize on the $10,000,000 Cash scratch-off game in January and Richard Green of East Fishkill who took home a $1 million Mega Millions second prize in April.
