Jimmy Fallon Donates $100K To Alma Mater In Hudson Valley

Part of the money will help the school's TV studio, which seems like an appropriate gift.

SAUGERTIES, NY — So maybe it wasn't as big a deal as Ellen DeGeneres giving an entire high school senior class four-year college scholarships, but it was a big deal to an Ulster County school when late-night television host Jimmy Fallon decided to give back to his alma mater.

NBC’s Fallon, the host of “Tonight Show,” graduated from Saugerties High School, and recently donated $100,000 to its art program, with some of the cash benefiting the school’s television studio, the Daily Freeman said.

Fallon has mentioned the Ulster town in “SNL” sketches and “Tonight Show” monologues.

He remarked that if the school were erect a statue of him, that he’d be “totally cool” with the gesture, the Albany Times Union said.

The school district’s superintendent thanked the talk-show host for the gift and said he’d be willing to eliminate the disciplinary record of the 1992 graduate in return.
