K-9 'Moran' Helps Find Kilo Of Cocaine During I-87 Traffic Stop: NYSP

New York State troopers also found $7,739 in cash in the car. The driver now faces felony charges, according to police.

CORNWALL, NY — A New York State Police K-9 sniffed out a big drug stash, according to state troopers.

On Thursday, around 4:25 p.m., NYSP troopers from the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) pulled over a white 2018 Audi Q7 traveling north on I-87, in the Town of Cornwall, for traffic violations.

During a traffic stop, police identified the driver as 41-year-old Anthony Johnson, of Kingston.

NYSP say that a probable cause search of the vehicle by troopers and K-9 Moran found a kilogram of cocaine and approximately $7,739 cash.

Johnson was charged with felony first degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and felony third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police say he was remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail.
