Kingston Emergency Food Collaborative Launches a New Look

The new look includes a logo, website refresh, and social media presence.

The Kingston Emergency Food Collaborative (KEFC) has a new look that better visualizes its commitment to food sovereignty. This includes the KEFC logo and a reenvisioned website, plus a fresh communications strategy and robust social-media campaign, all in an effort to engage community members in the greater Kingston area.

The new KEFC communications strategy is aligned with the collaborative’s values, which include centering the voices of the community, working from a place of transparency and accountability, and a shared commitment to equity and justice. The communications working group is facilitated by Ethan Scott Barnett, the KEFC Systems Change, Education & Outreach Coordinator, who is actively involved in grassroots food distribution and working with folks to advocate for policies that will eliminate barriers to food.

The KEFC logo was designed by Kim McQuaite, a marketing and advertising professional with over 40 years experience in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors, who donated his time and talent for this project. McQuaite is an evangelist for the Interruptive, Impassioned, Relevant, and Sticky. Combining his fluency in marketing best practices with his experience in creative development and communications design, he has created a logo that conveys the KEFC vision and values and reflects the organizational strength and solidarity of the coalition.
