Man Accused Of Possessing, Intending To Sell Illegal Drugs

He was arrested after a search warrant was executed at a city residence.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A Poughkeepsie man was accused of illegal drug possession after a search of a city home. The State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team and the City of Poughkeepsie police arrested Muneer E. Nesheiwat, 44, of Poughkeepsie, April 12 and charged him with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies.

Police said that a search warrant issued by the City of Poughkeepsie Court was executed at a South Clinton Street residence April 12.

Nesheiwat was found to have about 24.6 grams of cocaine 21.6 grams of crack cocaine and 1.3 grams of heroin.

He was arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.

Nesheiwat's next scheduled appearance in court was set for April 15.
